There is nothing that we see online or television that isn’t edited or curated content. Even this post has been edited twice to avoid offending others, and I say all this to remind you that there is no blueprint, there is no perfect and you’re doing fine.
But I guess that is why I wrote this post, because even while capturing all the Au pairs and house staff in the B roll they’ll still try to sell you the idea that these people are doing it all on their own, It’s almost comical.
I know I’m not the only one who ever watches shows like The Valley and counts how many times the kids are whisked away by the staff — or even better taken to some play place and lost in the B roll footage as the parents chat away on the other side of the establishment?
So to all the parents without staff, a village or even a partner, here’s your reminder that your house isn’t camera ready all the time because it isn’t a set and that’s normal, not something to be ashamed of. Never forget that life is meant to be lived in the present not as a presentation for the public, you’re doing great sweetie.
